Board Meeting late 2007 with Focus on the Family Rep. (Center) when we were approved to get an ultrasound machine.

Some of the wonderful volunteers at the NJWC.

NJWC Speakers

There are many wonderful people involved with the NJWC who would be glad to come to speak at your church or civic group about the Pro-Life mission, the Center and/or abstinence and healthy relationships.

Becky England
Nurse Manager

Becky has served the community and the NJWC  since its beginning in 1992.  She helped start the center and then did abstinence programs in the community for many years before becoming the NJWC Nurse Manager in charge of Ultrasounds and now STD testing.
Becky performs ultrasounds and STD/STI Testing and counseling.  She has a PowerPoint presentation available to present an overview of the ministry (including ultrasound pictures and positive client testimonies), and a presentation for parents and teenagers on sexually transmitted diseases/treatment/abstinence.
Recommended for churches, women's and youth groups, luncheons and medical organizations.

Joy Hutzler
Counselor

Joy Hutzler has been volunteering as a peer counselor with the Women's Center for nearly 3 years.  After feeling like God wanted her to do something to help end abortion, God clearly opened the door for her to volunteer with the Women's Center.  "It has changed my life and helped me grow spiritually. The women who work there are so encouraging, and you can't help but be blessed just being a part of such a ministry."
Joy and her husband have an adopted daughter.  This life experience has helped her connect with and encourage the option of adoption with many mothers-to-be.  "Adoption is the option least talked about.  Adoption has come so far in the last twenty years, and now mothers have the choice with whom to place their child and can even continue an ongoing relationship with the child, if they wish.  This is the case with our daughter's adoption, and we know God orchestrated the situation perfectly. It is rewarding to be able to share our story with so many young women who might not otherwise ever consider adoption."

Ginger Reeves
Client Services Coordinator

Ginger O'Brien Reeves has been a volunteer counselor at the NJWC since Feb 2009. She also serves as secretary for its Board of Directors.
Ginger lives in Fultondale with her husband, Franklin, and their 3 children, Walker, Matthew and James. She has attended Shades Mountain Independent Church in Hoover for over 10 years.
She has a passion for reaching the lost, as well as encouraging young ladies to remain pure until marriage. She speaks with strength and zeal on these subjects, yet is filled with love and compassion for the ladies she counsels.
Ginger enjoys talking to and meeting new people, which is one of the reasons she is such an asset to the North Jefferson Women's Center.

Nancy Shaffer
NJWC Director

Nancy and her family moved to the Morris area in 1978. She and her husband, Lonnie, have 3 children and 9 grandchildren. Nancy was saved at 29 and began a journey with the Lord. She and her husband ministered at The King's Ranch in Chelsea from 1983 to 1990 and helped hundreds of kids that came through the temporary shelter and also spent several years at the Al Baptist children's Home in Decatur.
Nancy has served as director of the North Jefferson Women's Center since Feb. 2001.
Nancy would be glad to speak at your church or Women's Group on the work of the center, life issues, sexual health (abstinence), post abortion, etc.
